Description
-
A scrapbook chronicling the stay of two American women to British India in 1945, post the world war. The book captures pictures, posters, pamphlets, letters, and flyers in circulation in the country at the time. Notable among them are informational pamphlets on the Princely States of British India, flyers supporting the American campaign in the World War, flyers supporting the "victory" in Europe, and images of Indian men and women in brigade uniforms. Indian soldiers (both male and female) were shipped off to Europe to fight a British battle and remain the forgotten martyrs of a foreign war.
